Highwire Entertainment creates bold touring works that fuse commercial viability, with excellence in circus arts and other multi-artform performances. We are known for delivering highly entertaining, polished work with a strong sense of humour. We boldly meld live music with circus and dance; physical theatre with science; performing arts with politics.

We like to say that our work is politics rolled in glitter. We are passionate about presenting shows that carry a message, and champion diverse representation and inclusivity on stage. We want to empower audiences to expand their views on circus as a medium, and to create opportunities for meaningful artistic expression for the artists we employ.

We deliberately create shows for a broad age ranges and demographics. We want Highwire to be a go-to production house where most presenters we will find something exciting and suitable for their audiences. We want to be consistently creating, so that we can have new offerings available to venues who have programmed us previously.

​Highwire was founded in 2006 by Elena Kischbaum, and incorporated in 2018. We have worked across Australia and produced and toured shows around the world.​

Primal is a great night out at the theatre, with high-level acrobatics and aerials that will leave your audiences wanting even more circus.

With the success of our previous show Rouge, we know there’s a strong market for sexy circus cabarets with commercial appeal and progressive political undertones. We make work that is sex-positive, queer-positive, with representation of diverse experiences, that pushes boundaries for traditional audiences and is lighthearted in its approach.

We can offer the following engagement opportunities:

1. Circus workshops and masterclasses, tailored for specific age groups, skill levels, and interests, to be designed in consultation with community circus groups.
2. Post-show Q&A sessions, available upon request from the venue.
3. Mentorship sessions for local emerging artists, where they can be paired with a Primal performer for a coffee chat, brainstorming session, or simply to chat about career pathways. To be tailored towards the needs and interests of individuals within the communities the show visits.
4. Gym session with Primal cast members. Some cast members are a qualified Personal Trainers, who will run a group session in your local gym or recreational centre for local community to break a sweat. Encourages fitness, team building, and laughter. Programs can be tailored to availability of equipment and facilities.
